Koen Quintyn

Koen Quintyn (BE, °1996) studied piano at the Tielt music academy and the Institute for Music and Dance (MUDA) in Ghent. Later on, he studied composition at the Ghent Conservatory.

Having won multiple awards as both a pianist and a composer (IVME composition competition 2nd prize, Dexia-classics 2nd prize ensemble, Vlamo 1st prize soloist), his works have already been performed by ensembles and artists including Lunapark, BL!NDMAN [strings], Pulsar Ensemble, Percussietrio Pulse, Lysesco, Headliner, Ursa ensemble, Gabi Sultana, etc.

Currently playing with pop band St. Grandson (2015 winner of ‘De Nieuwe Lichting’), Tessa Dixson, Uma Chine, he also collaborated with VRWRK, Dez Mona and Isbells.

Under the name of his own project ‘Stracciatella’ he regularly revisits other people’s music as well, delivering remixes for the likes of Absynthe Minded, C. Love Detectives, Byron Bay, ….
